please help with sunroof issue

1984 300D

I posted in tech help- but im desperate- leaving tonight for weekend and the sunroof crapped out- it moves 1" but refuses to close- there is a grinding sound that is felt in the sheet metal of the vehicle. the sunroof will not move forward into closed position-no matter how hard I coerce it.

Flashlight inspection revealed nothing significant.

Any and all help is appreciated.

If The 84 Is Like My 80 When You Open The Trunk On The Side Left Wall There Is A Bolt Looking Piece Attached Just About Where The Antenna Is. If It Is Still In Place It Is Used To Manually Crank The Roof Closed. An Emergency Remedy. The Manual Crank Is In The Vacinity Of The Antenna I Believe. Check It Out. Ray M
