Can you look at these pics please?

From the research I have done on this forum, it appears that I do not have an air recirc valve on my 83 300cd. I am familiar with the EGR and what it does and I have a plate blocking it off (for testing purposes only). Just wanted to make sure I do not have an ARV that I need to deal with.

ARV started in 84 CA models and all models in 85.

What's the point of getting rid of the EGR valve? Is it worth the work for the minimal hp gain? I could see doing this if it were broken, I'ld lose mine fast. Why take it off if it's not broken?

its what it does.. remove your EGR and look whats in the intake

When I blocked mine off, there was an extreme amount of sludge in the intake that was the result of the EGR. I cleaned it all out but it was almost like tar. That has got to be bad for the engine.

i need to remove my intake and clean it out and polish the exterior it looks boring, so does the valve cover lol.. needs some shine,
