Question W116 Euro Light Question

Okay, have been monkeying with the W123's too much lately and need to get back to the W116 which has become my favorite. While pricing replacmements for the missing driver's side headlight door I scored a sweet deal on a set of euro headlights. I like a lot about them but it appears they should have a cover on the back of the assembly. Around the housing perimeter is a thin, compressed foam seal and the whole assembly is just too "open" to leave as is. I've looked at several other sets of W116 euro lights on eBay and elsewhere and have yet to see any with a rear cover. Now, I haven't had my original lights out so there could be a compartment behind the assemblies but from what I've peeked at I somehow doubt that.

Anyone know the answer to this? Any W116 owners with euro lights?

I know on the W123 the euro lights with the sealed back are vacuum adjustable. Does yours have a vacuum pot on it?

I assume thats a Euro standard on the 116 as it is on the 123. More than likely someone didnt have the switch to adjust them with?

The "Cavity" that the US lights fit into IS the back cover, it's integrated into the radiator support. then there is a black metal removable cover that is accessed from the engine compartment.. some "federalized" cars are missing these black lids...

Hope that helps, I don't know anything about vaccume adjustable ones, sorry...
