"Old Lady"s 1987 Mercedes 300td on Ebay
I heard these stories so often, an old lady getting rid of her pristine car. Believe it or not! But here is a 86K miles old lady car in rust-free California - but hey, it still has the trap oxidiser. For those interested, it may be worthwhile to check it out.

Old ladys know how to use ebay?

Looks nice. I'll bet the bidding goes well over the $10k mark.

Needs some TLC, but the car lines up with the story. I prefer not seeing them detailed to death.

Zomg... still has the evil trapox.

This car is only 15 mintues from my house and guess what? I've been looking for an '87 for a long while. I'll check it out tomorrow and report back what kind of condition it is truly in.
From the way things have been going on eBay the last few months, I wouldn't be surprised if this wagon fetches $10k-12k. Oddly, Carfax has only one original entry for this vehicle in 1989, no others. As if the car hasn't been registered ever since. California is pretty anal about their car records, so this is a little odd. I can't make out the license tags to see what year they're for. Makes it a little hard to veify mileage unless they have service receipts. But, I'd assume that since it still has the trap oxidizer, it's been a while since this car was at any mechanic's shop. I mean, it's a freebie, who wouldn't take it? Might even get a free turbo and muffler/exhaust system , too. http://www.rapier-systems.com/300td/lb2.jpg Take a look at the front wheels. Is that solid brake dust all over them? Did this old lady ride the brakes like nobody's business? http://i15.ebayimg.com/02/i/08/0a/96/3a_12.JPG |
I think the wheel looks black because it is chrome, and it's really hard to take a picture of chrome and have it come out right.

I read that to be title issued in 99, not 89. That doesn't make sense unless she bought the car on a 10 year loan. Sixto 93 300SD |
Wow, I love the Light Ivory color!!! :)

Grandma also has a thing for clear corner lights. She's one hip cat!
His story is crap - if you go and see it, let us know what you think, please. |
