spline socket for 124 IP
I have to replace the o-rings in my wife's 87 300D. Does anyone have the necessary spline socket that is required? Since I don't expect to have to do this more than one time I'd like to purchase/rent one from one of y'all. Let me know your price.
Thanks, Clint

I can't help you out with borrowing it but I can give you the part number if you want to try and find one - Its 617-589-01-09-00
I just so happen to be borrowing it from my shop to do the same job here at home.

I also bought 1 from ebay for like $45. Its so pointless they used that tool. The bolts are on there with like 30 ft-lbs. I guess it looks cool.
Good luck finding 1 used though, Im going to keep mine since im sure I'll be needing to get in there again at some point.

when you do the job- may I suggest this: when you torque them back down, torque them to 30Nm, loosen, 30Nm again, loosen then 35Nm and they wont leak. Don't ask how I know this...

They are hard to find used, so buy one. After you bought it, you can put it on Ebay . I bought one from El Paso Tools, and the quality was good ( Koken, made in Japan). It is good to have one in your tool box, so I'm keeping mine.

Thank you
Thanks for the info folks. Based upon what I read I'll go ahead and get one. Thanks for the El Paso Tool link and for the suggestion that I resell it on eBay once I'm done.

Sheesh... forget the crappy aftermarket tools, buy the real Hazet, Made-In-Germany tool from the dealer. Should be about $35. Here's a photo:
