W124 Radiator Compatibility

I would like to replace the radiator in my 87 300D, but am having a difficult time locating one. I am wondering if there are other models that have the same radiator? I have found a lot of 300E radiators, will this work in a diesel?

Try these folks!

If you want a Behr, he can get one as well. The 300E doesn't work. none of the lines line up.

Yeap, the radiator is specific for the 1987 300D and TD. The 300E radiators will not work. I know the 300E's radiator costs less, but if you have the 87 300D/TD get the Behr. There are also after market radiators made just for them.

You can't use any other radiator and expect proper cooling. It needs to be for the 1987 300D/TD. Get the Behr, not Nissens. The Nissens doesn't have metal reinforced necks for the hoses, and you also will have to cut the plastic tank on the driver's side to make it fit. BT, DT. Expect the cost to be around $300 for a new one. Or, send your old one to Reseda Radiator, then can rebuild them for (last time I checked) $125 plus S&H both ways.
