Dumb question: serial number same as VIN

I am filling out this mileage badge application, and it wants the serial number. I can't find it. Is it the same as the VIN. If not, where can I find it (I don't have the title yet and its not on the registration)?

They also ask how many miles I drove, which is only 2,000 of the 252,000 miles. Will they care. I want to get that 155K badge and hurry on to the 312K!

[flip, flip, flip] looking through file for copy of form....

Yes, serial number is same as VIN. VIN is a USA-thing only, I suspect, serial number is more international.

They don't care how many miles you drove the car. I don't even know why they ask. When I applied for my 250000km badge, the car had over 208000 miles but I was responsible for only 1000 of them. It's the car that gets the badge, not you.

You'll like the package they'll be sending you! One of the nicest freebies I've ever seen, it defines "pride of ownership."

It does not matter how many miles you drove it. The car is getting the award, not the driver.

sweet, 2 replies in 10 minutes.
thanks guys
I guess the car deserves a lot of credit, but if I managed to drive a car 250,000 over 21 winters without wrecking, I would deserve several awards. So far I have been driving for three years and have only rolled one car.
