Oil Filter Housing 87 300DT

I did an oil change today on my 1987 300DT, and inside the oil filter housing at the bottom there is a tube where the stem that is bolted to the lid goes into. Inside the housing at the top of the tube was a rubber O Ring/ grommet that is all bent out of shape. I guess this was there to hold the stem in place so that it does not rattle about or is it there to hold oil from entering the tube???( Actually oil would enter thru the pin hole at the top of the stem and the hole at the bottom of the stem that is attached to the lid) I asked Phil at Fastlane about this grommet and he shows nothing on his parts list. Does any one have an idea where to get one of these or a replacement??? It fits tight over the bottom of the stem. I have a feeling that most owners do not realize that they had one of these grommets as they have gone lost over time…Thanks for any help.
