Ga$ is down, diesel up

Two weeks ago diesel in Houston was cheaper than regular, now premium is less than diesel as prices for gas are dropping.
Call it free market economy, for the life of me do not understand how all this works.

The refineries have almost caught back up with diesel supply demands and are starting to refocus on gas proiduction.

What? $2.33?? It's still nearly $3.00 here...

Boardmonger 09-02-2006 05:09 PM

Cheapest diesel in my area: $3.29

Cheapest gas: $2.85

An article in our paper yesterday said they are going statewide (as of yesterday) with the ULSD so that is what has increased our prices. It has been on sale in select areas but now we are all converted I guess.

I have been buying B99 for $3.32, at only 3 extra cents a gallon I figure it is worth it. I wish I could be complaining about $2.69 a gallon but I doubt I'll see that ever again :(

Fuel prices in Las Vegas:

Diesel - $3.39/gallon.......
Premium Gas - 3.19/gallon......

WVO - priceless

Not too odd-- My signature banner is a farce at this point, since diesel used to be cheaper, and the gasser only got about 12mpg more, I used to drive the 240 because it was only a few pennies more.

Now that unleaded is at 2.59 and diesel is still at 3.00, it is just too much in favor of the gasser to drive the diesel much. 35mpg at 2.59 v. 24mpg at 2.98... Which would youall drive?

It just makes more sense.

I do miss the giant steering wheel and the obnoxious factor, but hey--

I didn't notice, I think I paid a bit over $3 last time I filled up.

sailor15015 09-02-2006 06:25 PM

$2.35 for RUG, $2.85 for diesel when I left work a few minutes ago. Man do I love that veg oil.

TheDon 09-02-2006 06:55 PM

2.95 a gallon down 4 cents from last week.. plus 5 gallons of peanut oil free... (im regretting putting all 5 gallons in , i think the veggie did the wax thing and clogged the filter)

The cheapest gas here is still almost $3/gallon, I think diesel is about that too...
