I question if the hood pas has been replaced....every W123 turbo that I have seen has the hood pad with the foil shield. This hood pad does not have the foil shield.

The original ones (other than the 85 California model) did not have the foil, IFAIK. The replacements now all seem to have the foil, most of the cars you see with the foil (including mine) have been replaced.

This web site is for MB topics involving fear, ignorance and superstition and for dieselgiant to sell snake oil. Anyone with anything to say that is more technical or valuable than that should be tarred and feathered. We need more oil threads and reposts. The search feature should be disabled also. /end sarcasm

Herbert Phillip's original "But it Now" price of $20,900 turned out to be not too far from the mark. For whatever reason, at some time during the auction, he dropped the "Buy it Now" option.

The auction just ended this evening.

Sold at $18,600.00.

W123 diesels in nearly perfect condition are seriously appreciating in value.

When I was selling mine the comment I kept hearing was that the folks looking for one liked the classic "look".

The market has spoken, it has idicated that such a car is worth $18,600.

I guess these cars are going up in value, which of course is a good thing.

You have to figure that a lot of the W123's out there that are left are trashed and going to be scrapped in a few years. Same with the W126's. So nice examples will become harder to find and the value should at least level off if not go up. At least in my area roat salt will make sure of this, you can bank on it.

Its kind of like what happens to Ferrari's, they go down for about 10 years, then come back up then level off.
