some thieves are just f'n stupid. about five years ago, my other non-mb car was broken into and stole some quarters laying around ,the radio and the portable CD player that is hooked into it by a dumbest thief i've ever heard. he/she broke the driver side rear quarter window to unlock the door and get into the car. the thing that i was very upset about is, i don't lock doors, therefore all my doors are unlocked and the thief is still dumb enough to not try to open the door normally. i already made it easier for them and gave them no reason to break the glass. wtf!!!

This shows what some will do if they get the vehicle running.

Need to slip the bait car into a crusher whilst they're still in it...
Well, that's how this makes you feel !

well...perhaps then we should grab some of these from Half Life 2:

and put them around the car...perhaps that'll deter them?

Yeah thats my nightmare, some idiot busting a window and doing $2k in damage to the dash to get a $100 head unit out. Thats why I keep nothing inside my car. If you looked in my windows you wouldn't see a thing, maybe a couple of cents and a pair of sunglasses. I hope this alone would discurage anyone.

The SD had its windows broken about 5 years ago, I guess the insurance covered it. Someone thought it would be funny to smash all the windows out one night.

On another note my cousin was recently arrested for being part of a gang that did this. Of course he was inocent. I have no problem having in rot in jail for a bit.

This is the reason I want to get an alarm system that costs nearly as much as my car did as soon as I get a job. Along with the fact that I go to a school where any nice car that shows up ends up keyed and slashed within a week... Haven't had any problems with my Benz, but if I get it painted :X!

In the past two months my car has been:

Hit with a flathead screwdriver in the drivers door, left a good sized dent, then they dragged it all the way from the blinker to the middle of the rear drivers door making a huge long key mark, then they made a few extra scrapes on the drivers side fender. Fourth key'ing in my 3.4 year ownership of this car. The screwdriver incident happened in the employee lot at my work, so I have to go to work knowing one of the $#$@ people there did it. The gleaming black chevy avalanche next to me at the time it happened, not a mark. There are several far more expensive and better looking cars in the lot than mine, but they don't have any issues. Stupid MB haters!

Last night someone ripped off my hood star. Thankfully they did no other damage. I got a new one today and it looks waaay nicer than the old one did, if it gets stolen again, I am getting a removable one.

Thats why I take the SD to the crappy areas. Key the crap out of it, it won't bother the rust.

Luckly knock on wood I have never had a problem with any of my cars, but my buddy had his pass side rear view mirror almost ripped off of his E300DT in a Wallmart parking lot. Car was in the middle of no where, so whoever did it walked over with purpose. Dealer wants $430 for the guts to fix it, thanks jerk.

I always take the face off and leave my cars unlocked. It drives my wife crazy, she always locks hers.

I had my Oldsmobile (now, my mom's) keyed down the side of the car on like the 3rd day of school this year, which is why I went to the auction and got my SD, was looking for a car I wouldn't care too much about, but ended up with a car I love and do care about. Very luckily, someone hit the Olds while my mom was driving and their insurance paid for having a dent pulled and getting it painted

Around here kids break the windows out for fun. My wife got hit a couple of weeks ago, they obviously weren't interested in stealing because they never even unlocked her doors. And my Benz was sitting there unlocked. I'd love to catch the idiots, but the sad thing is they are never caught.
