Thumbs up A/C Flushing and Exp Valve?

I can't seem to find any info on using the old EV to flush the evap core. Can anyone explain/send me some pics on how to do this?

Also, I started flushin' here and I used two quarts on the condensor alone here. the flush comes out clean now but should I use another quart on it?

The compressor blew up in here and had LARGE metal parts in the manifold hose. LOL Just want to make sure there are no metal filings left in there.

You can reuse flush as many times as you want. Just make sure the final run is done with fresh clean fluid.

and as dieselgiant says...LOTS of compressed air. Just did the job and spent a long time blowing 120psi through the lines.

Yes, it is just as important to ENSURE that all flushing agent is removed, as it is to flush thoroughly in the first place.

An economical way to THOROUGHLY flush is to flush EXTENSIVELY with mineral spirits, remove all traces of them and then the final stage is flushed with the more expensive a/c flush.

I'm just reiterating what DG has already said, but along with all the other comments, the stuff does go EVERYWHERE too. On the outside components (drier and compressor) you won't have worry about flush staining anything, but if MS stains the driveway or garage you may want to have something underneath the car. Passenger seat area make sure you have lots of rags/towels when blowing the stuff too. There's no way to stop it from flying all over the place.

Since you know that a lot of debris made its way into the system, it may be prudent to add a metal mesh filter just before the compressor at the inlet side before reassembly. I remember something about this on ackits.com or acsource.com, where one of these outfits sell such a filter.

Remove the expansion valve. Drill out the small side with a 3/8" drill bit. Then reinstall the exp valve so that you can flush from the lines in the engine compartment and save the interior of the car from abuse.
