I have an 82 300SD, and the charging light stays on with the car off. Can this be fixed with a new voltage regulator, or do I need to just replace the alternator?

My 240D did that once when I had the engine ground stap disconnected. check your grounds.

I replaced the grounds and the charging lamp is still on with the car off. I'm going to replace the alternator.
