Highest mileage original 3.5 603?

I picked up a 90 350SDL yesterday with 336,000 miles.. still has the vin sticker on the back of the block.. it's not a replacement engine. No blowby, no noise, great power.. I guess it's hit and miss on which ones were rod benders?

Yes, but I'm not sure if I'm keeping it.. having fun fixing it's quirks and driving it.. the 3.5 is a torquey little monster

My feelings exactly.........regarding the former.........but I can't vouch for the latter.........since I've not driven it.

I'm actually pretty curious if the engine has ever been rebuilt. It looks like it has a #17 head.

Torque for sure but do you get the sense it's not as free reving?

Definately not as free-revving as a 3.0 but it's a beast off the line.

No ASR but it does have dual airbags

Very cool, SLS?

I liked the late W126's you could get many more cool options.

So it is quicker off the line? Bring it to the next GTG and I'll drag you. My SDL's pretty quick...

No SLS either. Few years ago I bought a 91 350SD that I resold.. I feel the same thing.. it's a lot quicker off the line and more torquey than the 3.0.

Interesting, I need to drive one and compare. Never ran across a 350 that I could drive, they are a bit rare as you know.

I've driven my brothers '91 350 SDL and the one thing that did not occur to me was that it was "little". The size comparison, would be more like my other brothers F-350 CrewCab Long Bed PowerStroke.

Personally I love that car big, decent power and looks like a "Real" MB should.

Enjoy
