You will need the engine number.........
to select the proper kit. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/attachments/diesel-discussion/19533d1088176639-engine-id-number-enginenumberlocation.jpg
I believe the new style is similar to this:http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/mercedesshop/sophio/wizard.jsp?partner=mercedesshop&clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&cookieid=1W71C3A361W90PHK74&year=1980&make=MB&model=300-SD-001&category=D&part=Diesel+Vacuum+Pump with a bunch of small screws on the cap. http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/mercedesshop/sophio/wizard.jsp?partner=mercedesshop&clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&cookieid=1W71C3A361W90PHK74&year=1980&make=MB&model=300-SD-001&category=D&part=Vacuum+Pump+Repair+Kit&appEngines=_any

great of you trying to help me out. I think I'll just pull the whole pump off and get it to my local foreign parts dealer and let him mix up a nice set of rubber...
sadly I'll have to drive a honda for the time being |
