99 E300TD check engine light need to reset any one now how?
When I was working on the alt I had started the car with out the hose from the turbo to the air cleaner on and now the CEL is on I think it is because of the mass air sensor not having any draw thru it .I know I should not have run it with out the hose on just for got about it while I was testing things .

That fault should clear itself on the 3rd cold start if it hasnt occured again during that time.

Thanks hopefully thats what happens.Are normal code readers able to work on these cars or do you have to go to a dealer.

A standard scanner will clear that code.
