Where is the K1 located in a 85 or 722.4?
I got my K1 kit to install to help out with the 2-3 flare. I have this picture I printed out from this thread and the transmission in the picture looks different than mine.
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/140495-another-k1-thread.html Has anyone replaced the K1 on a 722.4 recently? Which cover do I pull to install it? Is it on the front on the transmssion? I will try and take some pictures and double check that mine is the 722.4 transmission. I got the pan pulled and want to make sure I am taking the right cover off before I precede. Thanks. |

Looks like I have the 722.4
The K1 behind the cover on the lower right while looking at the front of the transmission? |
Found somemore pictures on other threads and got it changed. It was the lower right cover on the front with 4 screws.
Now will see how it helps out on shifting. |

I'm contemplating this fix on my '82 240D. 1-2 and 3-4 shifts are firm, but 2-3, while not quite flaring, is very slow and mushy (what I'd call 'lazy') Happy Motoring, Mark |
It was totally worth it. It made a noticably difference in the 2-3 shifts which are smooth now. I am very happy with how the transmission shifts now after doing it.
