Wow, 8 in 10 times I need something from betten they don't have it. You were lucky. Who helped you in parts? Was it Todd? The whole parts/service team there knows me quite well.

I thought I had a 722.3 tranny (4 speed auto) but that was just from looking at books and reading this forum. Is there a tag or markings on my tranny somewhere so I can confirm the number and be sure I'm getting the right part?

Jeremy
They are the same.

I went to the mb dealer (actually called them) And the jerk on the phone insisted that he have my vin. I (have it memorized, saw it once and knew it, with me it is like that with some stuff) told him he didn't need to know it. He said "hmphh how are we supposed to know your chassis code. 115 i said. Oh we have those in stock. Call your local dealer. They don't cost much there (64 for two) and if they are wrong it is much easier to deal with them than the internet. The pn# on mine was 019-997-80-82. The new ones come wire wrapped to protect them from road gators (retread) and such. Now if I could only get them off.......

When you do get them off make sure you put some never seize on the threads.

Cheers,

Bill

They don't ask me for my VIN anymore, I told them they didn't need it a long time ago.

I replaced mine when I changed my radiator in May, they came loose fairly easily....no problem to get them off the radiator, but a slight pain to get them loose from the pipes on the engine....I also have the spring wrapped ones, but I got them online (only $19 apiece...)

I just had the same experience on the highway. Got the new hoses for 18 apiece. DONT crank on that metal line ... make sure to use a second wrench for stabilization. And my radiator is plastic at the bottom, Careful there too.
