Brake Booster Interchange
What power brake boosters will swap into a 1979 240D?
The local pull-a-part has a 76 240D and an 83 300D, I'll go check them out if the parts will interchange, but I don't know if they will or not! Thanks in advance!

One trick for finding swap parts is the online parts dealers. It only takes a few minutes to verify what parts for what year / models.

Lostyankee has a good idea- just check the fastlane listing to see if the part numbers are the same. Or check the on-line EPC at that Russian website.
I am reasonably sure that the W123 300D booster is the same....but check for yourself.

The brake booster in a "77" 240D I recently acquired is smaller than the ones in my "later 240Ds. The M/S reservoir is also smaller with only one sensor. So I'm guessing, no, you cant use the 76 booster.

The parts for the 300D do have the same part number as a 240D on ********AZ-- I'll look at them and see if they're similar, even take some printed digital pictures of mine with to match up.
They looked about the same from what I remember, and the part is only 10 dollars, so it's worth a shot just as a troubleshooting measure to see if the part really is bad! Is removal/install pretty straight-forward? Any tricks to it?
