automatic transmission fluid
 

i have searched in vain for what fluid to use when changing transmission filter, etc. i have found someone said dextron / mercron which i believe is just old standard fluid. can somone verify this for me ? i need to change the filter and would like to do this this weekend. . . . .

what kind of car,year

mobil1 synthetic atf is a multi-vehicle application. it is compatible with dexron, mercon, and other conventional atf etc...etc..

Looking at your profile, I see you have a 1983 300D. So, any Dexron/Mercon III approved fluid will be fine.
