Manuals??
I have recently acquired my grandfathers's '78 300D. It is old, a little rusty and runs like crap. I picked up a wrecked 1980 300SD I am going to use for parts. Aside from radiator damage this car runs and drives pretty good.
My question is what is the best type and source for shop and exchange part manuals. I am a certified/journeyman mechanic but have very little experience with the Mercedes cars. I would be interested in gathering some manuals for the diesel engine, w123 and w126 cars. Is there a parts exchange manual similar to a Hollander available for these cars? I would like to do some reading and find out what I should be keeping off of the 1980 car (it is going to be stripped) for the older unit.

Manual .. there is a CD rom which is a condensed version of the MB shop manuals .... MB Classic in Montvale .... it's not complete but very helpful and, for the most part, correct .... cuz it's factory

I also got the MB 126 CD set. It's okay, but not too detailed. I got the rest of my manuals off ebay. I got the engine manual for only $5! Hunt around, there are deals to be had.
