83 300D W123 Speedometer, AC Vents

This car's speedo needle does not work but the odo works. What could be wrong?

Also, what could be wrong if the 2 middle ac vents do not spit out air? Thanks

bump

mine acts up once in a while. A finger thump on the front usually makes mine start working.

83 300D vents

there are servos behind the dash with diaphrams that go out. Take to a shop that knows how to diagnose the a/c systems and pay to have them go thru it. I had the same problem on mine and it was worth it to have Euro Motors in Santa Monica, CA go thru it and repair it in an hour and a half. In fact, i got the referral to him from this site. now i have air coming thru the vents just fine, now just have to replace the compresser/dryer and make the conversion to R134A

Good luck.

Off topic, but you may want to do some searches here prior to making the decision to convert to R-134a. Most of us have not been happy with the performance, I just converted back to R-12 (and I don't live in FLA). ;)

Thanks for tip but its gonna be tough for me to visit Euro Motors since am in Michigan... btw, I converted my a/c to r134 without replacing anything. I made sure first that the compressor was not seized. Then just got the R134 conversion kit which you can find in mant stores (3 r134 cannisters, 1 oil cannister and a chrging hose). I would try this first b4 going all out with the conversion.
