GT22V turbo info required
 

i have recently obtained a Garrett GT22v turbo for a project i am currently doing for my son (low boost on a 94' civic), but i currently can find no info regarding the turbo at all!

Just need to now what psi the internal wastegate is set at, if its similar to a T25 etc etc.

Any info would be a great help :)

The stock actuator is controlled by vacuum.

Also, be aware that the vanes can't hold up to the heat gas engines put out the exhaust. The diesels rarely pass 1200*f while gassers can often pass 1600*f.

Explain please? I have had a few turbo cars, gas and diesel and never heard of a difference between between gas and diesel turbocharger turbine wheels. RT

It's not the turbine wheels, it's the vanes and vane mechanisms that can't stand the heat. Gas engines put out ALOT more waste heat into the exhaust (up to 1600*f) and the 19 or so moving parts for the vanes can't take the heat. There are only two gas cars to ever use a VNT turbo, the 1989 Shelby/Dodge Shadow and the 2007/8 Porsche 911 Turbo.

Diesels run much cooler exhaust temps in the 1250*f range.

but regarding wastegate what psi is it set at?
