How does this color look on a 85 W123 300D?
How does this color look on a 85 W123 300D? I may have goofed...looks like a good blue for a Muscle Car or Police Car. Please give me your honest opinions. Does it match anything on the Color Chart? Does it look Mercedes like? Not too late to.....

There were many more colors on W123s available than are shown on that chart. Also the light ivory shown on that chart is not even close, I suspect other colors are that way as well.

It's VERY blue.....:)

Looks close to this color.
Doesn't look to bad. http://www.benzworld.org/gallery/showgallery.php/cat/11059/ppuser/12294 I'm no expert when it comes to painting cars but I have heard of adding color to the clearcoat. If you added either a darker blue or even black that should make the blue apear darker. I'm sure experts will chime in as needed. Louis. |
Your pictures are pretty bad, but I don't like that blue at all.

I like that color. I'd drive it. |
I'm not a fan of that blue at all.
To me, W123's look the best in silver and signal red. |
see most of the colors at http://astralsilber.de under Lackierungen / Farbcodes.
I like that blue - looks like "roadsign blue" to me. |
Looks good to me.

Honestly it looks about the same shade as the local police cars.:D But its your car if you like it enjoy.
Personaly I like my MB's in simple primary colors blue, silver, and black.:D |
and mocca

A darker blue would be more dignified, as a Mercedes should look.
|
I have yet to see a MB that didn't look sexy in 904 blue. Just be warned its a dark blue and is pretty hard to keep clean and swirl free, about as bad as black.
