Help, 99 E300dt Injector Removal

I Am Trying To Remove The Fuel Injectors On My 99 E300dt. I Have A 1&1/16 Inch 1/2" Drive Socket But It Is Too Thick To Go Down Inside The Recess. Do I Need To Get A Special Socket Or Can I Remove The Valve Cover? Thanks.

If the sidewall of the socket is too thick, take it over to your bench grinder and thin it out to fit. Yes you will lose the finish on the socket but you will now have the "special tool" for the job.

I Tryed That But Still Will Not Fit. I Suspect That My Nozzels Are A Different Size Than What Diesel Giant Had On His Older Five Cyl Mb He Used On The Video.

Oh well. I'd have lent you the tool if you paid shipping both ways

The nozzles are the same but the socket must have a thinner wall or the special tool.

Buy the proper socket from MB. With the right socket they come right out like on any other diesel.
