Vacuum Converter???
Gentlefolks,
What does the "Vacuum Converter" do?? On my '85 300D-T, it appears that most of the air pushing into my system (nothing sucks....accept womenfolk)....is passing thru the "Vacuum Converter" The line that goes to the "Control Unit"...don't know exactly what it contrils, but it's located close to the turbo....according to the schematic....perhaps a boost dump??.....anyhow that "Control Unit" holds vacuum..... This device "Vacuum Converter" looks as it has some electrically actuated shuttle valve...and a diaphragm.....and I am getting air into my system via the top connections.....One connection goes to the "Main Vacuum Pipe", and the other to , amoung other things......the "Vent Filter"....... Any ideas on troubleshooting this device will be greatly appreciated..... Thanx a bunch, SB

Vacuum troubleshooting....
G'mornin' folks.....
It seems that there isn't a lot of info around, once you begin digging into the vacuum system...... It seems that my problem began after I changed the Vacuum Filter in the "Vent to interior" line.......that leads from the bottom of the "Vacuum Converter"......and the electrically operated "Crossover Valve".......both of these items are mounted on the Drivers side fender well on my '85 300D-T...That li'l vacuum filter, the original one, looked so dirty and clogged up.....thought the system would work better with a new one.... At present I have that "Vacuum Vent" plugged at the Crossover valve, and everything is back to working as it should......except the pollution stuff.... Does anyone know if there should be an oriface in that vacuum line?? Also it does not connect to the Injection Pump Vacuum Control, as the schematics that I have seen indicate........ Thanx Guys, SB
