I am hoping that I can find a few people who have this car and have not had to do all this major engine work that I have been told of. So please let me hear some feedback positive or negative. The car I purchased is immaculate with 119,000 miles on it the engine appars to be very tight, burns no oil. I would love to keep this car but if I hear to many horror stories I might have to move on to a different diesel. Thanks

I do not own one of these, but I strongly considered purchasing one several weeks ago. I had a very long talk with my mechanic about their engines. He said that the rod bending problem occurs when the engine overheats, and that if you maintain the cooling system and do not allow the engine to overheat you should be okay. However if the engine does overheat you are looking at a repair that will be thousands of dollars.

Keep an eye on your temp gauge.

Use search utility and you'll find lots of info

Benzmac doesn't like to repeat himself, so I've saved him the trouble. Chris, follow this link and look at his comment:
