Brake idiot light

Today I noticed while driving home from work that the red brake idiot light started coming on when I was making left turns. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? Perhaps coincidentally, my radio stopped working on my way to work, rather suddenly. I ahve not had time to see if there are blown fuses or anything else. There are only a couple of lefts on my way, so I also didn't get to see any real pattern.

If the red "Brake" light is coming on, make sure that:

A. There is enough brake fluid in the brake fluid resevoir.

B. That your parking brake pedal is coming up all the way when released.

Those are the only things that could cause that. As for the radio issue, I'd check the fuses like you said, or perhaps the radio is just dying.

Is it the parking brake light or the pad warning light (looks line a circle with a dashed line around it). My pad warning light has started glowing every once in a while...looks like it's time for new pads.

Its the parking brake light. I went for a short drive today and it didn't do anything, I may have just bumped the parking brake, the light comes on if I just touch the pedal in a downward direction, not even pressing it. Brake fluid level is right in the middle, between max and min when cold so that should be fine.

That just means that your parking brake pedal is on the verge of getting too loose for the switch. When its pressed downward a little clicker switch up inside the kickpanel is depressed, allowing the light to come on. If it ever comes back on just lift the parking brake pedal back up (if it will stay up, mine doesn't anymore ) and that will make it turn off. Mine turns off if I lift the pedal, but it just falls back down. Oh well. Parking brakes suddenly snapped/failed on me about 3 months ago and I've not done anything about it.
