1981 300GD Turbodiesel

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1981-MERCEDES-300GD-TURBO-DIESEL-CONVERTIBLE_W0QQitemZ160032955524QQihZ006QQcategoryZ31854QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

For the (Currently) low price of $15,600 you can have an ultra-rare turbodiesel 300GD! If you win, all you have to do is go down to Costa Rica and pick it up.

Id rather take the trip down to guatemala again and buy one for less then $5K. They arent very expensive vehicles if everyone in guatemala city was driving one around.

It was imported once by Europa, so it should be set to re-enter the US. It looks like it has CA plates on it.

Is 28 mpg too high? What should it be?

With the low odometer reading, still looks new - any guesses on what a fair price would be?

28 mpg would be good for a 300D with that engine. I find it unlikely that a heavier, less aerodynamic vehicle, most likely with a higher gear ratio could get the same mileage.

I think anything between 18 and 25 would be realistic because of it's mass and drag of 4X4 parts.

He's been trying to sell that on craigslist for 5 months now. I wish he'd get the hint.
