my first guess is cv joints.
to check park it and chock the wheels and put it in neutral. then crawl under and grab the half shafts and wiggle. it shouldnt wiggle at all. it will slide back and forth a bit but should not wiggle at all.
the diffs are very very robust and seldom cause trouble. you have to run vastly different sized tires or run it low on lube to hurt them, generally.
oh yeah, it also could be a bad sway bar linkage. if it is just a clunk now and then. the rear should be a bit mushy handling too if that is the case.
