O ring help needed please
I keep reading in the forums about the need to replace the O rings on the end of the Oil filter housing shaft. I've attached a photo of the ones on the end of my 240D's shaft. I'm a complete noob regarding this procedure and what's worrying me is that the two O rings seem to be different sizes as the shaft itself tapers to different diameters at the end. The replacement O rings I got from the dealer are identical to each other in size so am I right in assuming that you simply force the two identical new ones onto the shaft and they will just conform to the different sizes of the two ridges in the shaft? Or do I have the wrong O rings?
