Oil weight
Im preparing to do a oil change on my 123k 300sd this weekend. im looking for suggestions for what oil to use. (weight, not brand) the car does not smoke, or have any sugnifficant oil leaks. just some typical blow by via the blow by tube,

15W40 is a good weight to use.
I usually switch to a 10W30, 10W40 or 5W40 in the winter. Of course make sure it is AT LEAST CF rated.
depends on if you are going to use synthetic or not. i will be putting in a 0w-40 syn for winter. diesel rated,of course. 15w-40 is a good dino weight.
And 5W-40 is a good synthetic weight.
Before you ask, once around the block and new oil will look like old oil.
