300sd vs. deer...

well (i wish on the deer) but i'd call it a draw. hit him at about 45mph it lived and ran away, i lost my left turn signal lens and headlight frame and a big crack in the right side but no body, grill, bumper damage.
any one know where to get the headlight frames and turn signal lenses cheap? i don't need the whole assembly just the frame and turn lens.

Local pick and pull? Depending on where you live, there may be several in your area. I live in a pretty small town and there's a nice yard about half an hour away with about thirty cars like mine. Good thing no one was hurt and there's no major body damage.

Deer Whistles

G'mornin',

Originally I am from Maryland's Eastern Shore, now reside in the Boonies of Central West Virginia.....hence the screen name "Shorebilly"

I have been using "Deer Whistles" for some decades now....and I have never hit a deer.......technically.......one did run out of the fog and ran into the left side of the bed of my F-150, just outside of Easton, MD...last year.....bit I did not hit him, he hit me!!!!

"Deer Whistles" are available at your local Auto Parts Store.......I swear by them.......they (supposedly) put the deer on alert, and thus the vehicle dosen't frighten them.....or so the theory goes......anyhow, my mom is 80yo and has been driving since before WWII....and hasn't hit a deer.....and she has been using the whistles since the '60's (I think).......I don't know how to prove that they work......but that's my story!!!

I hit a coyote once, but never anything as big as a deer. That doesn't sound at all like much fun.

Fullsizejeep (timex takes a lickin) has killed 2 deer + 3 hondas (mmm mmm pileup) + a tree (off roadin at 15mph) = a dent in my front bumper cast iron rules in the state with the most car deer accidents of any other state.
