That's no longer an additive, but slowly becoming addic-tive...

I used to do the same thing. Here's a tip... after a few bottles of 85+ (or DFC) have been run through, stop using it. I bet your MPG remains high and doesn't drop back to where it was before. I no longer put a few oz's in every tank, and just use a full bottle maybe once per 10kmi or so for grins.

I had very good results with Schaeffer's SoyShield in my VW diesel (+3mpg, quieter and less smoke).

When I score on an MB diesel, I will surely try it.

It is possible that I see an improvement because the 300D runs B100 almost all the time. The additive may compensate for the slightly less energy content of biodiesel. On dino diesel I suspect that there will be less or no improvement once the system is cleaned out, as you suggest.

However, I will drop the additive and see what happens, probably after the first of the year. Thanks for the suggestion.

Jeez ive been running a full bottle of Redline DFC in every tankfull!
Alternating with Startron Diesel and full tanks of b100 every 3 months or so.
I guess im overdoing it.

I like to use a bit of snake oil now and again when ever I can find a good snake!! They are getting harder & harder to come by & the greenies get upset when you ring the oil out of them !!

Jeremy,

Were you ever able to determine whether the additive had any positive effect in terms of mileage while running petrol-diesel?

I just replaced my IP in my F350 ford IDI. The shop opened the old on and found rust in the pump. I have since started using a water dispersal PTTP in my 2 300sd's and the Ford. The Ford used nothing but diesel and the MB's use nothing but a blend of wvo and diesel. 90/10 to be exact. The pumps on the ford are 300 plus and this is the 4th IP ON 7.3 Fords in 6 years. So far the MB's IP have been good. The different MB' that I have owned in 8 years have had about150,000 miles with wvo and the Ford's (2) have only had 20,000 miles on them with mostly diesel. On the wvo end I sometimes add acetone to the blend.
