will old fan clutch fit 123?

Hi everyone,

Car has been running warm, sporadically, at all speeds, all conditions. Everything has been replaced, to no avail.

So, I am about to change the fan clutch, even though it was replaced about a year ago. The spare old clutch I have has the number 108.205.1006. Will this fit my 123?

Thanks

D.

It's less than a year old. Why throw parts at it? If the clutch does not leak and it has resistance to turning, I'd leave it alone.

How hot is "warm"?

Thanks for the advice, Forced.

The fan clutch does have some resistance to turn when warm. It's hard to measure, as I am not sure what normal resistance should be. It does however, stop very quickly when car is shut off.

It runs up to 100 C. At times it stays there, sometimes it returns to its' normal 85. I have noticed the guage "jumps" though. So, I am concerned that its something with the guage itself or temp sensor. Bought a IR therm. today, haven't gotten to open and use it yet though.

The fan should stop quickly when the engine stops. If it kept spinning, I'd say replace it.

If the gauge jumps, try replacing the sensor first. Cheap compared to most of the other cooling system parts.

From what I could find out, looks like it will fit, though the number is not the same as the replacements available now. Guess just see if it bolts up and check the clearance with all other components.
