Nailing after valve adjustment

Hello all,

Over the weekend, I adjusted my valves. Now I'm experiencing more (what sounds like) nailing than ever before. Some nailing at cold idle and REALLY bad nailing right before a shift at higher RPM's. I'm going to recheck the valves this weekend. Any thoughts?

Thanks as always,

it where my car, the adjustment would be done tonight...

Your MPG is bad if the valve adjustment is wrong...

I suggest you read this thread and all the cross link threads first.
Valve adjustment OM617 FYI.

Possible mix up of intake and exhaust valves????
Possibly left one loose???

I agree, better recheck your adjustment. And I don't think it would be a good idea to wait at all.

I think that is a good idea. Let us know.

BTW, wagons should be a 300TD whether they are turbo or not. The year will speak as to whether it is turbo. Yes, some places, even within the Benz mothership denote them as a 300TDT, but don't let their "loose" nomenclature cause you to do it wrong....... [this is a general paragraph, not aimed at TchTchr]
