My dealer is extremly good in hunting down the parts I need. They have tracked $2 parts all the way back to obscure MB storage areas in Germany for me!

Fastlane and there parts listings are accurite 99% of the time, and of course Phil is just about impossible to stump if you call him. At least I have not been able to stump him! But like all online parts listings they are generic, and lack the detail that the dealers have. There is no way to fix this, so when in doubt double check. MB made a lot of little changes over the years so don't assume that because you have a 1985 300D that XX part is the same as on a 1981 300D.

Next time I am at the dealer, I will try to get part numbers for the old style and new style parts. As I recall, there are 2 different sized o-rings, and the metal washer. No doubt the o-rings could be purchased at an auto parts store just by taking in the bolt and finding o-rings that fit.

You do realize that there are two (2) crush washers, one on top of the banjo bolt and one on the bottom.

Here is a drawing of the earlier style:

http://detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=123123&M=616%2E912&GA=722%2E117404&GM=716%2E005210%2C214+++++++717%2E400&CT=M&cat=004&SID=07&SGR=120&SGN=04

41 is the washer and 44 is the o-ring. I can't seem to locate a drawing of the newer style which has 2 different sized o-rings and no washer.

re:

Replaced the O-ring and it's all better. Good to go.

Thanks!

Part numbers as promised:

007603-018101
copper washer, 18mm i.d.

003-997-58-48
o-ring

000-997-00-48
o-ring

One of the o-rings is 10 mm i.d/14mm o.d./(2mm thickness). Unfortunately I don't know the dimensions of the other o-ring, and I don't know which one is which.
