#01273 transmission compatible with 300 tdt?

found this...wondering if it would work on a 1985 300tdt wagon?

"1980 Mercedes 240D Manual transmission stock #01273. The hollander interchange is #51279 and is interchangeable with 1973-1980 240d's and 1973-1976 230d's."

anyone know a webpage where it breaks down transmission #s by model?

thanks, everyone.

thanks, samuel...i finally get to see a breakdown of chassis/transmission model #s.

i found the "p/n" #115 261 08 19 for the #722.117, but i couldn't find the "p/n" for the #722.118. what are the differences between the #722.117 ('81 - '83 240D) and #722.118 ('81 - '85 300D)? will either bolt right into a 300 tdt wagon? what additional parts or modifications are necessary to accomplish such a transplant? what would be a fair price for a mechanic to charge for such a job? thanks, everyone.

Complete and model after mine below the " Signature " portion of your "Profile". This helps us to better understand and follow what's behind your questions.

Our 1980 300D has a 722.118 tranny and the #(s) I took off it's side include:
1232703201
722.118.02.098161
I canNOT remember which is which as to p/n -vs- transmission #?
There was recent POST that identified a large resource database of MBZ and their " interchangeability ", but I canNOT now find the POST!?
Regards,
