Clean 240D engine
Great shape except for a bit of corrosion.....
Hmmm, not bad, looks like it maybe saw some service in a submarine...:D
When I first read the description I thought it said "complete disaster engine" rather than "complete diesel engine". :D

Yea, an outboard........... |
Yikes!!! I would say that there's about a 95% chance that engine has been under water (salt water).
If I may quote a really lousy 80's movie:
"OK, who is the U-Boat captain?" |
Looks like it was covered by a rust and corrosion promoter as well.
It was stored in a LOW humidity Hawaii farmhouse. :D

I'm still trying to figure out where that engine is. It seems to be in the engine bay but it seems very low. Kind of like it fell out of the car. The air cleaner is way down next to the wheel well. Here's my take:
INCLUDES A/C PUMP, ALTERNATOR, AND STARTER (IF IT IS STILL THERE? I'LL HAVE TO CHECK?) Hopefully it hasn't rotted off... ODOMETER READS "250024" MILES WHICH IS ABOUT HALF LIFE FOR ONE OF THESE ENGINES. That's nautical miles... THEY GO FOREVER IF WELL MAINTAINED no explanation needed AND RUN GREAT ON BIODIESEL. ENGINE APPEARS TO BE IN DECENT SHAGE (shape, maybe?)EXCEPT FOR SURFACE DIRT AND CORROSION. I've got to wonder what he's comparing it to if this is surface dirt:eek: IT HAS BEEN STORED OUTSIDE COVERED UP UNDER THE HOOD FOR ABOUT 5 OR 6 YEARS. It has also been stored at the bottom of my pond for about 15 NOT SURE IF IT RUNS, well... BUT I WAS TOLD IT RAN BY THE MAN WHO GAVE (sold) IT TO ME! there's a sucker born every minute |

Yeah thats about what she should look like, if under salt water for a couple of years!
He should just give up and have the junkers hual it away. |
I didn't know the '77 used the York. Huh.
Check out the other piles of rust, uh, I mean parts he is selling. Must be hard on vehicles to be in Hawaii.
