intermittent suspension groan 85 300TD
I just had the fun of rebuilding my self-levelling valve on my wagon. The good news is no more sagging rear end.
The bad news, which may or may not be connected to the new rear height, is a sporadic groan, quite loud, which occurs on hard takeoff from a stop, but not always. It seems to come more from the driver's side, and it might be more pronounced and frequent when turning AND accelerating at the same time, again, only from a hard stop. Does not happen while bouncing the rear up and down by hand. Anyone have the same experience? I am leaning toward the subframe bushings, but I wonder whether the shocks or the accumulators might make noise, especially after a long layoff. I suspect my accumulators of failing, as I have a slight bit of bounciness in the rear now.
