I noticed the same thing this morning driving to work in the dark. Just some smoke on throttle lift off between shifts. Where before it would also be there during accelleration. Motor also sounds better, but this is purely subjective.

My Jetta Tdi still smokes the same with any fuel. I like to give tailgaters the ole smokey. The '79 300d still does NOT smoke very much, never did.

my TDI does not smoke the same color anymore, it's a little lighter in color and in volume. I used to be able to really smoke someone with my Golf running on D2, but couldn't do it with the B100. Can't do it really well with ULSD either.

The ULSD smokes a little more than the B100 in the W123 at full throttle. It's more obvious if a car with HID's is tailgating.....

it is the sulfur that is the major cause of the smoke/particulates.. ulsd=ultra low sulfur diesel.

I have my ALDA absolutely shimmed and maxed out, and it only makes a small "puuuf" when I take off, its pretty black, but small and it dissipates in a few seconds. If I don't floor it there's no visible smoke. The exhaust does smell different though. I need to adjust my alda properly soon, I am only getting about 22mpg's....lost a couple but gained a ton of acceleration. It breaks loose almost always if its wet and I floor it. I need to do a 0-60 sometime soon.

There was a noticable decrease in smoke with the new ULSD fuel. The SDL went from a slight amount at wot, to near zero.
