How important are clips for fuel line?

I replaced GPs on my 3.5 sdl by removing the intake manifold (they were clean!!!!)but broke the plastic clips that hold the hard injector lines.

i would order some new ones and replace them. they will keep your lines in good condition for a longer time since they prevent unneccessary vibration. like many things it is a system that is designed to work together.

I have a pic on here somewhere where two injectors lines had touched from clip failure causing one to leak. It's a must fix item unless you carry spare hard lines in your trunk.

I cannot attach (size) the diagram and part# for the SDL, but if you want them PM me.

And they are pretty cheap. Order some extra's so you'll have them he next time you want to do service that requires you to remove the lines.

When I ordered Sunday I got one of each of the two kinds I need. That is all that was in stock. I wanted all 6. (4 of one, 2 of the other.)

My SDL (sold) injector lines touched even with new clips all around. The wear was minor since it was side-to-side contact with an adjacent line but it sounded like nailing at times. The lines must have been manhandled by a previous owner. I ran a slit down rubber vacuum hose and slipped it over the lines where they contacted.
