Premium diesel?
Got a fill up on the NY thruway of "Premium" diesel
MY E-300-TD appears to run better on it. Is it just my imagination? The only place I see it around here is on the thruway...Anybody know a source on Long Island NY?

It could potentially have a higher cetane level, or an additive or something, but if it cost the same, it most likely doesn't. Its probably purely psychological. Theres several stations around here that offer "premium" diesel too, its just winter-grade #2 diesel with a couple additives in it. I just buy whats cheapest....my car seems to run on all of them just fine.

In some places it is a 50 cetane diesel. I used 50 cetane diesel for a period of time. I observed a slightly better acceleration, but no real difference in fuel mileage.
