Glow plug light is still Flashing?? Need help!!

I bought this 1979 Mercedes 300SD as a project car to learn on. When I bought it the glowplug light was flashing. I did a resistance check and found that five out of the six were between 1.4 to 1.6. I went ahead and changed four of the five glowplugs (removed three fuel injectors to get to them). I go to start the car and the lightis still flashing??? There is continuity going to each glow plug from the relay. There is also voltage present on the relay in all areas. I have no idea why this is happening. Anybody ever had a similar problem or have any advice on how to fix this. Any help would be much appreciated.
