Engine Noise

I recently replaced the exhaust system and can finally hear the engine.
It is making a weird clattering noise between 1000-1500 RPMs. It is a very fast vibration that sounds metallic. Any ideas? Nailing?

There is a mounting bracket for the air cleaner housing that was insufficiently strong to do the job of holding it - so it frequently breaks. It makes a loud rattle when broken.

You can get an idea if this is the problem by just shaking the air cleaner housing with the engine off. It might rattle in the same way. Or, to be sure, you can remove the three bolts, take off the housing bottom, and inspect the bracket to see if it is broken.
