Rear hub dust caps missing?
Should the rear hubs on the E300 TD have dust caps? I just noticed that they are missing when I put on my snow tires this weekend. The new snows are mounted on winter steel rims with open centers so the hub nut would be exposed to the slush and salt...which can't be good.
It looks like the dust cap would be a 2 7/16" OD, the same as the fronts which no one I checked with carries. Would this be strictly a Dealer part ? Thanks

IIRC the wheel bearings are shielded on the inside of the stub axle so there's nothing for a dust cover to cover. In other words, I don't think your car came from the factory with rear dust covers like it has in front.
