Diagnosing Fuel leak

Can anyone provide some assistance on how to find whats leaking? There is fuel dripping from the primer Pump area, onto the crossmember. The drip rate is about one drop every 4 or 5 seconds. In checking the Fastlane catalog, I see a gasket, a Primer Pump, and then a Primer Pump Assembly at signigicantly more cost. How do I determine which parts I need?

Is there a "typical" failure mode? Is there a specific place I can look for a crack, or a break to know whether I need the pump or the assembly?

The pump itself is tight to the body.

I will be looking at this today ( Monday) afternoon, so any quick help is especialy appreciated.
Thanks to all.

is this the white primer pump? if so, you may want to loosen it, pump it a few times and then tighten it back up, just to see if it stops leaking. sorry, I don't know the answer to your question... John

replacing the primer pump, with either the old white pump style (more WVO friendly)
or new black sealed plunger style, is an easy first fix (unscrew&install new) and usually solves that type of problem.

the lift pump (primer pump assembly) is typically pretty bomber..
having fuel system trouble on the 240, unfortunately not just the primer.

Sounds like the primer pump. I just replaced one two months ago. Check your MPG before and after. Mine was leaking more than I realized.
