Temperature Gauge Sensor---Location
 
1980 300SD, 116120, 617950

Behind the IP, in the head, are 2 temp sensors approx 4" apart---which one is for the temp gauge in the instrument cluster? What is the other one for?

On my 1980 300D ( a little different - no-turbo) the rearward one
is the temp sensor for the dash instrument (test it by unplugging),
the forward one is for the glow plug temp sensor.

THis is according to the factory service manual wiring diagram.


I think it was green wire for temp instrument guage.

THANKS. MY TEMP GAUGE QUIT WORKING. WILL INSTALL THE NEW SENSOR TOMORROW AND LET YOU KNOW THE OUTCOME. THANKS AGAIN
