First, the time to ask all these questions, and to be skeptical was before the auction ended.
Second, if some hack just cut and pasted a bunch of generic info, I would have a hard time being comfortable with the auction.
Third, if you have "mom and dad's" car in your signature, you're probably too young to be buying a car from ebay. This is what can happen....
Fourth, you really spent very little for the car, so you won't be totally destitute from this deal either way.
You might even get a clean little daily driver. You aren't going to get "showroom" for that $, but that's not what you were after.
And, good luck withholding money from the very large truck driver without a sense of humor...........

And the best point of all, who cares about this car!! You have a Euro 240D!!!!!

Get the car

You bought a running parts car and it doesn't look to bad. Drive it and enjoy it or sell it and make a couple of bucks, including your cost of shipping. Time to worry is over when the bidding stops. Get the car and get on with your life, (spend a little time on your spelling also.

For $750 it looks decent. Mention the Carfax issue and maybe he will knock the price down a bit.

$750 for any one of these that runs down the road decent enough is a good price.

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGG

this guy is an IDIOT!!! so on friday i just spent $603 to have the car shipped on monday. i sent him an email on friday saying the car will be picked up by DAS on monday. Keep in mind i had to spend an extra 153$ just because the guy didnt want to drive it 50 miles to the drop off point. So i just now get an email from the guy this sunday saying "postpone DAS untill i give u furthur notice. I shoot him an email back saying that i cannot just postpone this. u have to give me a date inwhich i can tell them they need to pick the car up. I have invested $603 in the move alone. i told him if i didnt here back from him by 3pm today that i would assume the move is still on for monday. hopefully he will reply, if not i dunno what to doo... GOSH THIS GUY IS AN IDIOT!!!

Take my advice

Take my advice.

1) Have the SELLER ship the car TO YOU. Do not have arrange for shipping yourself. Pay the seller if you have to so that THEY arrange for shipping. If you have to sue later, you can sue them on your turf, not you having to go to them.

2) You can probably get shipping for less, shop around. Call your local auto auction people, or auction people in the city the car is in. They will probably be happy to give you a few car hauler's names, and you'll likely get a price for about 1/2 of what you've been quoted elsewhere.

Good luck.

You better hope he is an idiot. I'm afraid he may be a crook, and the car didn't sell for as much as he had hoped..............

**edit**
Good Lord, I went back and looked at his feedback. I wouldn't have purchased anything from this sleeze, and I only made it to page 4 of his feedback.....
Sorry, but I would be worried........

I hope this guy is not dismantling it and replacing parts with substandad.. just tell him he's made the deal void by his not agreeing to ship.
Your emails will document your time deadline and don't pay up.
I thought you said you paid $150 and the balance due upon receiving the car????

anyway, once the trucker drops it off, good luck telling him you don't want it.

best of luck

well he emailed me back and said he was going to call the shipping place today, sunday. he said he is going to have them ship it next monday? this just isnt adding up. it sucks that i already paid for the shipping. we shal see what his lame ass excuss is this time for why he must ship it next monday and not tomorrow. im just hoping i get the car now. or even if i can get my money back from DAS!! this is very lame. i should have been more carful with this situation but i was in the heat of the moment. if i get the car... ever..... i will definently have learned my lesson.

funny thing is, i was basically bidding 750 on every 300 turbo. and just happened to win this one
