i am at a total loss. i have disconnected the AC line going into the firewall and the doors. so now there is nothing vacuum related connected that could affect engine power.
my 240d is a dog. it feels like i am towing another car it is soo slow. it has to be vacuum related, but i cant seem to figure out how. can someone help me find vacuum schematics so i can see what that AC knob does. i took the top cover off that has the antenna switches, rear interior lights, and sunroof buttons, and looked at the AC knob. it has like 4 of 5 vacuum lines going in. i know that what i move it away from the off position that turn the blower on and makes air come out of the vents. how can this affect my engine power? if anyone has any more suggestions i am open to them.

Can you post a couple of pictures of your engine? I cant imagine anything vac related causing a power loss on a naturally aspirated diesel. Maybe a look under the hood will help.

ok here are some pictures of my car. as you can see the AC knob as very many Vacuum lines going and coming from it. when i turned the AC on i could hear a flap moving and air would then come out of the vents. somehow this action gives me lots of lost power back.

so i reconnected the vacuum lines under the hood that go to the AC knob. All Power is back now. i am just clueless as to how the AC knob controls my engine power. in adition the car wont turn off agian. which means the AC system has a leak.

Supply vacuum only to the shutoff switch, do not supply vacuum to the ac and doors. If you lose power, then its the shutoff switch. Its probably leaking and trying to shutoff the engine.

That can on the top of the injector pump is not supposed to have a vac line going to it. Disconnect and plug that vac hose and I bet your problem will be gone. I'm guessing that when you turn on the a/c a vac is supplied to that can. That will reduce total fuel output from the injector pump killing power output.

i will try that right away, omegaman. that makes sense to me now, because a guy in my appartment complex just bought a 240D and i saw that his was not connected. i was thinking his was messed up, but i guess mine is. i will post in just a second, need to do a test drive...
